It's the 4th of July and it is hot. It is summer! Here in Texas it has been hot for months. Heat and bright sunshine is very stressful for the skin. Drinking water all day is very important for the hydration of the skin. Full spectrum sunscreen is a must! UVA-UVB protection. When the skin is overexposed to the sun hyper pigmentation develops. This doesn't happen over night but builds up on the epidermis and the dermal layers( the top layer and lower layers of the skin) with continued exposure to the sun. With summer around the corner we all know that the summer heat and sun can make it a stressful time for your skin. But, it doesn't have to be. Most people think skin care is only for women. I ask a question. Are women the only people with skin? If the answer is no, then skin care is not only for women. Every thing effects the skin but one of the most aging and damaging things for the skin is sun and environmental assault. Therefore, one of the most effective anti-aging ingredients are sun screen ingedients. There are chemical and physical sunscreen ingredients. Happy New Year to all! I can not believe it is February 7th already and the "Big Heart Day" is next Mon. The Christmas holiday season just blended into now. I have been very busy training 2 new estheticians and working more in the facial room,which I love! It is what I love more then anything. Bringing help to those who need it. Creating a program of home care and treatments that really do create and maximize results. People who have Rosacea, Acne, Hyperpigmentation issues etc. Issues that hold people back from feeling their best. We in the "Beauty" industry should have a serving heart. It is what sets us apart. People do feel our sincerity if that is where we are coming from. My 7th anniversary here in Georgetown, Tx. is Valentines Day. I started on Valentines Day 2004 at Rachel & Co. A wonderful Hair Salon in Georgetown. Not knowing a soul just sharing "Clinical Excellence with a Special Pampering Attitude" to all. Seven years. Wow! What a seven year period, not just professionaly but personally. On December 9th 2006 I married the love of my life, my sweatheart Paul Tyler. Beauty To All This Holiday Season

I am in the beauty business as they say. I have been for over 27 years now. What is beauty? Beauty is an intangible and is perceived many ways by all. Beauty to me is an attitude of joy and love. It is grace in any circumstance. It is an understanding of gratitude. Underlying all challenges are messages that lead to answers. If we can open our eyes and heart we will have appreciation for the circumstances. What stricks me most about the "Holidays" is that people seem to naturally exude these "beautiful" attitudes of beauty. Love and light as they say. What do we see all around us? Lights everywhere. The season glows. That is what beauty is. It glows. It is an attitude. Have you ever been attracted to a person who is not conventionaly beautiful but glows? Their inner beauty is what is attracting you. The Lords Prayer says "love thy neighbor as thy self". It is often harder to love ourselves. But, if we do not love ourselves we can not love another. The word of God says "Jesus came to give us love and love more abundantly". He was the personification of true beauty. He was and is love. During this holiday season I send love and beauty to all. Happy Labor Day!

The holiday Labor Day has never made sense to me since we should have the day off and not be laboring. Shouldn't it be called Non Labor Day! Regurardless, it says more then anything that it is the end of summer. Here in Texas it means thank God the 100 degree heat is almost behind us. Yea!! Thursday night it started to rain and Friday AM as well. With the rain it brought cooler weather. For awhile I hope anyway. Just because its cooler doesn't mean you don't need to use sunscreen daily.
